For the ninth year, I will be making & collecting handmade baby blankets for the Family Maternity Center at Highland Hospital in Rochester, New York. This rewarding project keeps everyone busy through the cold, snowy days of winter. If you are interested in donating a blanket or two, please email me.
Thanks,
Colleen
I made up my own pattern with the bead stitch and alternating rows of single crochet, half double crochet and triple crochet. I used up most of my scraps of blues throwing in an off white row here and there.

I made this beautiful rainbow blanket with scrap yarns from my stash bin using the double crochet stitch and a different color for every row. Adding rows of white here and there seems to pull all the various colors together.

I love the bead stitch so I made up my own pattern using it. I started with a chain of 120 then alternated with rows of the bead stitch, half double crochet, triple crochet and half double crochet. Repeat these 4 pattern rows until your baby blanket is large enough.

I saw this stitch on TV and decided to use it for a baby blanket. The pattern is simple: 2 half double crochets in the same stitch then skip the next stitch. I crocheted a decorative border using the bead stitch!
